Ann Wilson (singer)
Ann Dustin Wilson (born June 19, 1950 in San Diego , California ) is an American singer and front singer of the group Heart .
Career
Wilson joined a local band called White Heart in the early 1970s. Her younger sister, Nancy, followed in 1974 when guitarist Michael Fisher moved to another position in the band. The group's first album under the new name Heart was released in 1975 under the title Dreamboat Annie .
Wilson had three hits as a soloist and as a duet partner in the 1980s. These recordings were made as part of soundtracks: Almost Paradise (1984, from Footloose ) with Mike Reno , lead singer of Loverboy , and Surrender to Me (1988, from Tequila Sunrise ) with Robin Zander, lead singer of Cheap Trick , each made the top 10 American singles chart. The Best Man in the World (1986) from the soundtrack to In Search of the Golden Child was created without a duet partner and only reached 61st place in the US charts, but was a huge hit on Billboard's rock charts .
Wilson opened her own recording studio with her sister called Bad Animals in the mid-1990s . With her second band project The Lovemongers she contributed some songs to the soundtrack for the film Singles by her brother-in-law Cameron Crowe and released four EPs. Whirlygig's debut was released in 1997. The Heart album, Jupiter's Darling , was released in June 2004.

Wilson has two adopted children. She has been married to Dean Wetter since April 2015.
