Anna-Christine Rhode-Jüchtern

Anna-Christine Rhode-Jüchtern (* 1944 ) is a German musicologist and former lecturer at the Upper School College in Bielefeld .

Life

Anna-Christine Rhode-Jüchtern (formerly Brade) received her doctorate in Göttingen in 1971 . From 1971 to 1974 she was a research assistant at the Johann Sebastian Bach Institute , Göttingen, and from 1974 to 1980 she did a legal clerkship and school service at the comprehensive schools in Kierspe and Hagen / North Rhine-Westphalia. Nearly 30 years, and from 1980 to 2009 she was Academic senior councilor at the upper-Kolleg Bielefeld the University of Bielefeld , and coined the local Department of Music. In 2009 she completed her habilitation at the University of Oldenburg . Numerous research stays took her to the USA, Great Britain, Austria and Brazil. She is a founding member and board member of the International Leo Kestenberg Society (since 2009). Rhode-Jüchtern wrote the first and so far only monograph on the Berlin composer and music teacher Charlotte Schlesinger , who first emigrated to Kiev, Prague and London, and later to the USA for a long time due to persecution in the Third Reich.

Focus of work

Her work focuses on music education , the Kestenberg reform, research on female composers and music educators , and right-wing rock .
