Georg Joseph Wedekind

Georg Joseph Wedekind (often also Georg Josef Wedekind ; born July 6, 1739 in Fulda , † August 11, 1789 in Heidelberg ) was a German lawyer and university professor .

Life

Wedekind was the son of the legal scholar Franz Ignaz Wedekind . He studied law at the University of Heidelberg . In 1760 he received the Lic. Iur. In 1762 he became an associate professor at the university. In 1763 he became an adjunct at his father's chair , and he also held a professorship in state and imperial history. In 1773 he was promoted to Dr. iur. utr. PhD , full professor of natural law and councilor of the Electoral Palatinate.

Wedekind was administrator of the Heidelberg University Library and a member of the Palatinate Academy of Sciences . In 1786 he wrote new statutes for the University of Heidelberg.
