Friedhelm Brusniak

Friedhelm Brusniak (born October 1, 1952 in Korbach , Waldeck ) is a German music teacher .

Life

Brusniak attended the humanistic branch of the old state school in Korbach . After graduating from high school, he studied school music from 1971 at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts . His teachers were Branka Musulin and Poldi Mildner (piano), Richard Rudolf Klein (composition) and Helmuth Rilling (choir director). At the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main he studied musicology with Lothar Hoffmann-inheritance law and Ludwig Finscher as well as history. In 1975/77 he passed the first state examination for teaching at grammar schools. In 1980 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD . He completed his legal clerkship at the Kassel I study seminar (Gymnasium Bad Arolsen). After the second state examination (1980) he was from 1981 to 1988 academic advisor at the chair of musicology at the University of Augsburg ( Franz Krautwurst ). In 1988/89 he received a postdoctoral fellowship from the German Research Foundation . He then worked as a lecturer, teacher, senior teacher and deputy professor for music education at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (1988–1999) and at the Heidelberg University of Education (1994/95).

He completed his habilitation in musicology at the University of Augsburg in 1998 and was appointed private lecturer . In 1999, he followed the call of the chair of music education and didactics of music education at the University of Würzburg , where he in 2004 for the first professor of music education was appointed. From 1989 to 1999 he built the Singer Museum of the Franconian Singers Association in Feuchtwangen (successor institute of the former German Singer Museum in Nuremberg). Since 2010 he has been the Scientific Director of the Foundation for the Documentation and Research Center of the German Choir. From 2010 to 2012 he was the project manager for “German Choirs” ( German Choir Association ). From 2011 to 2015 he was visiting professor at the Akademia Pomorska w Słupsku . He retired on April 1, 2019. Since 2018 he has been President of the Franconian Singing Association.
