Franz Krautwurst
Franz Xaver Krautwurst (born August 7, 1923 in Munich ; † November 30, 2015 in Erlangen ) was a German musicologist and university professor.
Life
In addition to his many years of activity as a professor at the University of Erlangen and the University of Augsburg, Franz Krautwurst emerged in regional musicological research and founded and established this as an important branch of musicology. Krautwurst was editor of the New Musicological Yearbook and emerged as the author of other publications. In addition, Krautwurst played a key role in the International Valentin Rathgeber Society for research into the biography of the composer Valentin Rathgeber . He was also a collaborator on Schubert publications at the International Franz Schubert Institute in Vienna.
