Horst Leuchtmann
Horst Leuchtmann (born April 26, 1927 in Braunschweig , † April 10, 2007 in Munich ) was a German musicologist .
Life
Leuchtmann was a student of the composer Philippine Schick (1893-1970) and together with her created a German-English dictionary for music [RD Brühs, F. Messmer, R. Reitzer: Philippine Schick, Tutzing 2005]. After receiving his doctorate in 1957, Horst Leuchtmann became a research assistant at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences . 1983–95 he was a lecturer (since 1986 in an honorary professorship) at the University of Music and Theater Munich , 1986–95 teaching assignment at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .
His research focused on the music of the 16th century and modern times. On behalf of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences, he compiled a list of the compositions by Orlando di Lasso .
Horst Leuchtmann died on April 10, 2007 and was buried on April 27 in the Neukeferloh cemetery.
