Anna-Marlene Bicking (born February 7, 1987 in Leipzig ) is a German composer and singer.

Life

Anna-Marlene Bicking was born in 1987 as the daughter of the composer, film musician, producer and saxophonist Andreas Bicking and the actress Simone Storch. Influenced by pop and jazz music in the family, she began to discover her love for singing at the age of nine, and participated in musicals and albums. As a child, she also gained her first TV experience in the ZDF hit parade alongside the singer Veronika Fischer . From October 2008 to February 2013 she studied jazz singing with Judy Niemack at the Jazz Institute Berlin and completed her training with a bachelor's degree-Graduation. As a singer, arranger and composer, Bicking works professionally in various jazz and pop projects. Between 2014 and 2018, Bicking studied film music for a master’s degree at the Babelsberg Film University with Bernd Wefelmeyer and Ulrich Reuter .

She created her own compositions a. a. for the series Schloss Einstein , for short films, documentaries and feature films as well as radio plays. After her first release (EP Glückskind) as singer Anna-Marlene , she composed and produced a pop crossover album in 2016 with her co-producer Charis Karantzas with the Babelsberg film orchestra , a string quartet, a band, electronics and guest musicians under the name "Tagtraum ". The project was financed through a crowdfunding campaign and support from the Music Initiative . Her debut album was released in 2017 on the A&O Records label, which she had launched two years earlier with her partner. Several singles were released and TV interviews with RBB and MDR followed. In 2018 she released her next album, an EP with 7 songs under the name "Alles ist neu", with which she was played in many digital and public media stations (e.g. MDR Sputnik, MDR Sachsen, MDR Thuringia, MDR Sachsen -Anhalt, Bayern Plus, Landeswelle, Rautemusik, Lautradio, Wüstewelle, Radio VHR, and much more)

Anna-Marlene Bicking won the GEMA Music Author Award in the young composer / pop category at the beginning of 2018 . She was honored at a gala in Berlin on March 15, 2018. Bicking is a member of the German Composers' Association and DEFKOM, and she is a delegate of the extraordinary members of GEMA.
