The Anna-von-Dippe-Stift was a listed building ensemble in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt . At the beginning of the 21st century, the buildings were demolished and a parking lot was built instead . Only a part of the listed property fence remained.

location

The buildings were located northwest of Quedlinburg Schlossberg in the area of a valley between Castle Hill and the eastern Münzenberg . The property was entered as an estate in the Quedlinburg monument register.

Architecture and history

In the 18th century there was a building yard and the municipal orphanage at this point . The property was later referred to as the poor house . From 1881 on it was renewed as Anna-von-Dippe-Stift.

Probably the oldest building was the so-called morgue facing Schenkgasse on the east side of the site. The building was made of sandstone blocks. This was followed by two-storey buildings in massive construction. They were made of natural stone and were not plastered. On the upper floor there was half-timbered construction facing the courtyard . A door with a skylight in the style of early classicism came from around 1800 .

In addition, there was a long service wing. The building was built around 1800 and had a massive ground floor on which there was a half-timbered upper floor. The roof was provided with bat dormers and roof pikes . This was followed by a brick building with a coat of arms and the date 1881. During the Second World War there was a reserve hospital in the property .

These buildings existed until the end of the 20th century. They were seen as defining the street scene on the edge of Westendorf below the Munzenberg. Nevertheless, the property was then demolished and replaced with a parking lot.

Only parts of the property fence, which is also listed, have been preserved. It consists of a high sandstone wall.
