Anna Evgenjewna Medvedeva ( Russian Анна Евгеньевна Медведева ; born July 30, 1989 ) is a Russian cross-country skier and triathlete .

Career

Medvedeva started in Vershina Tjoi for the first time in November 2009 in the cross-country skiing Eastern Europe Cup and took 21st place in the sprint. In the following year she achieved her first top ten placement in the Eastern Europe Cup with ninth place in the sprint in Werschina Tjoi.

In the 2015/16 season she finished in the top ten five times in the Eastern Europe Cup. With third place in the skiathlon in Syktywkar, she achieved her first podium and reached eighth place in the overall standings at the end of the season. After finishing second in the Eastern Europe Cup in Krasnogorsk in the 2016/17 season, she made her debut in Ulricehamn in January 2017 in the cross-country skiing world cup and achieved 42nd place over 10 km freestyle and tenth place with the relay. In the following month she got her first World Cup points in Pyeongchang with 19th place in the sprint and sixth place in the skiathlon. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , she finished 33rd in the skiathlon and 31st in the 30 km mass start race.

Winter triathlon since 2020

In February 2020, the 30-year-old was runner-up in Italy for the winter triathlon (7 km run, 17 km mountain bike and 9.74 km cross-country skiing) and world champion in the mixed relay, together with Pavel Andreev .
