Anna Maria Ehrenstrahl (born September 4, 1666 in Stockholm ; † October 22, 1729 ibid) was a Swedish painter in the Baroque style .

Life

Ehrenstrahl was the daughter of the court painter David Klöcker Ehrenstrahl (1628–1698) and Maria Momma († 1681). She received her first drawing lessons from her father, who recognized her artistic talent early on. She soon copied and finished her father's works, including Prince Gustaf and Fredrik, Queen Ulrike Eleonore of Sweden and Aurora von Königsmarck . She had a special friendship with the poet Sophia Elisabet Brenner . According to other sources, this was her sister. Together they brought out a book called Muliebris industriae ingeniique… .

On November 25, 1688 she married Johan Wattrang (May 25, 1659 to February 17, 1724), Vice-President of Svea hovrätt . The couple had a son, Carl Johan Wattrang (November 16, 1689 to December 26, 1749).
