Anne-Catherine Lyon (born April 12, 1963 in Lausanne , resident in La Praz ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

biography

Lyon at the Universities of Lausanne and Brussels law studied and completed with a master. She then worked at the Broye District Court and later worked at the cantonal immigration office.

In the National Council elections in 1995 and 1999, she ran unsuccessfully for the National Council on the Renaissance Suisse Europe list , which advocated Switzerland's accession to the EU . In 1999 she was elected to the Constitutional Council of the Canton of Vaud, and one year later (2000) she joined the SP. In 2002, Lyon was a city ​​councilor in Lausanne for a few months before she was elected to the State Council on April 23, 2002 . Until her resignation in the summer of 2017, she headed the Department of Education, Youth and Culture .
