Pascal Broulis
Pascal Broulis (born April 3, 1965 in Sainte-Croix VD ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ).
career
Broulis began his career at the Vaud mortgage bank and the Banque Cantonale Vaudoise . From 2000 to 2002 he was deputy director (logistics department) of Banque Cantonale Vaudoise.
He began his political career as a councilor in Sainte-Croix . In 1990 he was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud. In 2002 Broulis was elected to the State Council of the Canton of Vaud and has since been re-elected three times (2007, 2012, 2017). In the State Council, he is responsible for the Finance Department and (since 2007) for the Department of Foreign Affairs. In 2006 and in the subsequent legislative period from 2007 to 2012 he presided over the Vaudois government.
On August 6, 2009 Broulis announced his candidacy to succeed Pascal Couchepin in the Federal Council. Didier Burkhalter was ultimately elected .
