Anne Wiazemsky
Anne Wiazemsky (born May 14, 1947 in Berlin ; † October 5, 2017 in Paris ) was a French actress and writer .
Life
Wiazemsky, who came from a Russian family in exile, made her film debut in 1966 as Marie in Robert Bresson's Franco-Swedish drama For example Balthasar (Au hasard Balthazar) . From 1967 to 1979 Wiazemsky was married to Jean-Luc Godard and starred in several of his films: 1967 in the film drama The Chinese (La Chinoise) , whose script is loosely based on Dostoyevsky's novel The Demons , alongside Jean-Pierre Léaud and in the experimental film Weekend , 1968 in One plus One . For Pier Paolo Pasolini she stood in the literary adaptation Teorema - Geometry of Love in front of the camera in 1969 and in 1970, again at Léaud's side, in the film drama The Pigsty .
In addition to her work as an actress, Wiazemsky also made a name for herself as a director and above all as a writer. The granddaughter of the French Nobel Prize winner for literature, François Mauriac , received several prizes for her literary work. In 2007 she published the autobiographical novel Jeune fille , which tells of the collaboration with the French director Robert Bresson . In the - also autobiographical - novels Une année studieuse and Un an après , Anne Wiazemsky describes her life together with Jean-Luc Godard, from her first meeting while filming Au Hasard Balthazar to May 1969, her work as an actress in his films, the Parisian May '68 , her encounters with "Dany le Rouge", Daniel Cohn-Bendit , with the Rolling Stones while filming One plus One , and other encounters. The volume Photographies is dedicated to the same period .
Jean-Paul Civeyrac's drama All the Beautiful Promises is based on Wiazemsky's novel Hymnes à l'Amour .
Wiazemsky died on October 5, 2017 at the age of 70 from complications from cancer .
