Anne Wibble , b. Ohlin ( pronunciation : [ ˌanː ˈvibːlə ], born October 13, 1943 in Stockholm ; † March 14, 2000 ibid) was a Swedish politician ( Folkpartiet liberalerna ) and from 1991 to 1994 Minister of Finance .

Life

Anne Wibble was the daughter of the economist and politician Bertil Ohlin . She trained as an economist and taught at the Stockholm School of Commerce for several years . After several years as an employee of the parliamentary chancellery of Folkpartiet, she was elected to parliament in 1985 .

After the bourgeois election victory in 1991, Anne Wibble became finance minister in the Carl Bildt government . She held her post until the 1994 Reichstag elections. She was the first woman in Sweden's history to hold this post.

In 1995 she ran for the post as party leader of Folkpartiet, but lost the vote against Maria Leissner very narrowly. She kept her seat in parliament until 1997. That year she became chief economist at the Swedish Industry Association instead.
