Annekathrin Giegengack

Annekathrin Giegengack (born July 22, 1970 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). From 2009 to 2014 she was a member of the Saxon State Parliament .

After graduating from high school in 1989, Giegengack studied social education from 1990 to 1994 at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt . She then worked as a social worker at the Chemnitz homeless person (1994 to 2000) and studied politics, sociology and theology at the Technical University of Chemnitz and the University of Leipzig. From 2000 to 2005 she was a research assistant at the Theological Faculty of Leipzig University . Since 2001 she had a teaching mandate at the Saxon Social Academy Chemnitz and the Studienakademie Breitenbrunn .

Giegengack is an Evangelical Lutheran denomination. She is divorced and lives in Chemnitz. She has a child with Volkmar Zschocke .

Political career

In 2001 Giegengack joined the Greens. From 2004 to 2009 she was city councilor and managing director of the Green parliamentary group in the city council of Chemnitz. In the state elections in 2009 , Annekathrin Giegengack ran unsuccessfully as a direct candidate in the constituency of Chemnitz 3 , but entered the Saxon state parliament via the state list . There she is a member of the Committee on School and Sport. In March 2010, she resigned her seat on the city council in Chemnitz. Giegengack did not run for the state elections in 2014 .
