Anneliese Sälzler

Anneliese Sälzler (born Weiß * May 15, 1927 in Berlin ) is a German social hygienist . From 1971 to 1990 she was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Anneliese Sälzler, daughter of a book printer and the politician Frieda Weiß , attended middle school and finished a commercial apprenticeship as an industrial clerk . In 1945 she became a member of the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) and in 1946 of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED). From 1947 to 1948 she attended a workers 'and peasants' faculty (ABF) and graduated from high school. From 1948 to 1955 she studied medicine at the Humboldt University in Berlin and then worked as an assistant at the Berlin-Friedrichshain hospital . In 1950 she became a member of the Free German Youth (FDJ). From 1956 to 1961 she worked as a district councilor and district councilor in Berlin-Friedrichshain.

In 1957 she became Dr. med. doctorate and worked from 1957 to 1964 as a doctor and senior physician at the Institute for Social Hygiene at the Humboldt University. In addition, due to the great shortage of doctors, she worked as a company doctor at Bergmann-Borsig , where she also provided medical care for kindergartens . In 1964 she completed her habilitation and was appointed professor in Magdeburg in the same year . From 1964 to 1973 she was Professor of Social Hygiene and Director of the Institute for Social Hygiene at the Magdeburg Medical Academy . From 1967 to 1974 she was a member of the SED city leadership in Magdeburg. From 1968 to 1971 she was chairwoman of the social council and from 1971 to 1974 first prorector of the Magdeburg Medical Academy. From 1973 to 1982 she worked as director of the Institute for Hygiene of Children and Adolescents (IHKJ) in Berlin. In 1971 she became a member of the Kulturbund der DDR (KB) and in October 1972 a member of the Presidium of the KB. From 1971 to 1990 she represented the KB in the People's Chamber. She was a member of the Health Care Committee from 1971 to 1981 and of the Foreign Affairs Committee from 1981 to 1990. In 1974 Sälzler became Vice-President of the UNICEF National Committee of the GDR and from 1982 was head of the Chair of Child and Adolescent Health Protection at Humboldt University, Medicine Department ( Charité ).
