Anni Dyck (born April 18, 1931 in Wernigerode ) is a German Mennonite missionary and writer.

Life

After spending her childhood and the war years in Wernigerode in the Harz Mountains , Anni Dyck's family fled to the West on January 18, 1946. In Korntal , Württemberg , she passed her secondary school leaving certificate and then trained as an educator at the Froebel seminar in Stuttgart from 1951 to 1953 . This was followed by a degree in Christian Education at the Mennonite Goshen College , Indiana , USA, and at Bethel College , Kansas , USA.

From 1956 to 1970 Dyck worked for the Agape publishing house in Basel, whose aim was to publish biblical material for children's camps. This is where Dyck's passion for children and books came together. From 1971 she lived in Batu, Indonesia , where she created Sunday school materials with Ruth Läufer and ran children's camps. At the same time, she acquired a Master of Arts in Religious Studies until she returned to Germany in 1989. Only three years later, in 1992, Dyck went to Hong Kong , translated the Indonesian Sunday school material and conducted training courses for child labor in various Asian countries as well as in Ghana and Egypt . In 2006 she finally moved back into the Mamre house of the Christusträger sisters who live in Rödermark in Hesse . The proximity to Frankfurt Airport allowed her to continue traveling in Asia and around the world.
