Annie Briggs
Annie M. Briggs (born 1987 in Canada ) is a Canadian actress . Her most famous role is that of Lola Perry in the web series Carmilla and the feature film The Carmilla Movie .
Life
Briggs grew up in Halifax . She completed a theater degree at Queen's University in Kingston. She then studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City . She later moved to Toronto . There she appeared in plays from the Reach Ensemble Theater and the Single Thread Theater . In 2008 she acted Eurycleia in the play at the Modern Fuel Artist-Run Center in Kingston. In 2012 she played a leading role in the off-Broadway play The Brightness of Heaven at the Manhattan Repertory Theater in New York . In 2014, she played the lead role of radio host Leah Calder in the thriller Roundabout . In the same year she gained international fame through her role as Perry in the web series Carmilla . Perry is a student who wants to live a normal life in a world full of vampires, witches and other supernatural beings. In the second season Briggs played with Carmila's mother, aka The Dean, the main antagonist of the series. In 2015, Briggs reached 73rd place on AfterEllen 's Hot 100 List, ahead of stars like Kate Winslet . In 2016 Briggs starred as actress Abby in the short film Luvvie , a short film that Briggs not only wrote and produced, but also directed. In 2017 Briggs appeared again as Perry in The Carmilla Movie .
