Annie Markart

Annie Markart (born August 5, 1907 in Frankfurt am Main , † January 23, 1991 in Munich ) was a German actress .

Life

The daughter of the building contractor Franz Josef Markart and his wife Katharina completed an apprenticeship as a tailor and took ballet lessons from 1922. After singing lessons, she got smaller roles in operettas such as Zigeunerliebe and Der Zarewitsch as well as in revues and comedies. In 1929 she was engaged at the Wiener Kammerspiele .

The successful stage artist made her film debut in 1930 and settled in Berlin. She corresponded to the type of girls of today from the film of the same name from 1933, simple, nice, lively and successful, always good for a dance or singing performance. From November 1933 to 1937 she was married to the director Herbert Selpin and from 1937 to 1941 to the actor Alexander Golling .

Annie Markart, who had lived in Munich since 1938, worked temporarily as an interpreter after the end of the war. She then took over film roles again, but could no longer build on her earlier successes and withdrew from the public.
