Anselm Hartinger

Anselm Hartinger (* 1971 in Leipzig ) is a German musicologist , historian and museum director.

Life

Anselm Hartinger was born in Leipzig in 1971 as the son of the literary scholar Christel, née Käschel, and Walfried Hartinger. After attending St. Thomas School , he studied Middle and Modern History and Historical Musicology at the University of Leipzig .

From 2003 to 2006 Hartinger worked initially as a freelance and later as a research assistant at the Bach Archive in Leipzig . He was also jointly responsible for the redesign of the Bach House in Eisenach between 2005 and 2007 . In 2010 he was at the University of Marburg with the work "Old News". Bach performances and Leipzig music life in the age of Mendelssohn , Schumann and Hauptmann 1829 - 1852: Repertoire formation, performance practice, performance conditions and aesthetics doctorate . From 2012 to 2014 Hartinger was the curator of the collection of historical musical instruments at the Landesmuseum Württemberg . Between 2014 and 2019 he took over the management of the Erfurt history museums. On April 1, 2019, Anselm Hartinger was appointed director of the City History Museum Leipzig .
