Anselm Schnaus (born November 19, 1670 in Amberg ; † January 2, 1724 ) was abbot of the Waldsassen monastery from 1710 to 1724.

Anselm Schnaus came from the Fürstenfeld monastery to Waldsassen , where he was also Kastner and construction director and was ordained abbot of Waldsassen by the abbot of Aldersbach in 1711 . Like his predecessor, he fought for imperial immediacy , but he also had to defend himself against the demands of the previous sovereign of the Upper Palatinate . In 1715, Anselm Schnaus presented Elector Maximilian II Emanuel with a gift of 80,000 guilders as a token of the monastery's devotion. In the following years he managed to win back several former monastery parishes. It carried out various construction measures and ensured an increase in the number of novices. Anselm Schnaus was buried in the crypt under the collegiate church .
