Ansgar Hörsting

Ansgar Hörsting (born June 8, 1965 in Hamburg ) is a German Evangelical theologian and President of the Federation of Free Evangelical Congregations in Germany (FeG). The Federation of Free Protestant Congregations in Germany comprises 479 congregations with 41,203 members (as of December 31, 2015) and is one of the Protestant free churches in Germany.

Life

After studying at the Ewersbach Theological Seminary (today: Ewersbach Theological College ), Hörsting was pastor of the Free Evangelical Church of Siegen- Geisweid from 1993 to 1997 . In 1998 he moved to the Allianz Mission , which he headed from 2000. On September 16, 2006, he was elected President of the Bundestag of the Federation of Free Evangelical Congregations in Wiesbaden as successor to Peter Strauch . He took office in January 2008. Hörsting has been a member of the main board of the Evangelical Alliance in Germany since 2007 . He has been a member of its Executive Board since 2017. From 2008 to 2017 he was a member of the board of the Association of Evangelical Free Churches (VEF), of which he was president from July 2011 to March 2017. He is also President of the International Federation of Free Evangelical Congregations (IFFEC) and a member of the board of trustees of the non-denominational association ProChrist , which organizes large-scale evangelizations. Hörsting is an advocate of the controversial mission to the Jews .
