António Eduardo Pereira dos Santos (born March 3, 1984 in Salvador , Bahia ), also called canoe , is a Brazilian soccer player.

Career

Kanu started playing football professionally at ABC Natal in Série C. He left the club after two years to play a division higher at Ituano FC . After he was relegated to the Série C in 2007, Kanu went to Portugal to the then second division SC Beira-Mar . With the club he made it to the Primeira Liga in the 2009/10 season . After six months in the first division, he was signed by Standard Liège and became runner-up behind KRC Genk , which allowed the team to take part in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League . In this round, Standard Liège was eliminated by FC Zurich , but qualified for the group stage of the UEFA Europa League . In the last sixteen, the team was eliminated against Hannover 96 , with Kanu undercutting two own goals in the 0: 4 in the second leg . In the summer of 2014, Kanu switched to Vitória Guimarães after three years . From January to March 2016 he played for Oud-Heverlee Löwen .
