Antanas Rubšys
Antanas Leonardas Rubšys (born November 5, 1923 in Bučiai, Tauragė District , † August 27, 2002 in New York City ) was a Lithuanian Catholic theologian, prelate , professor .
Life
He studied at the Šiauduva elementary school and graduated from the Šilalė grammar school , and from 1943 studied at the Telšiai seminary . From 1944 to 1945 he studied philosophy at the Eichstätt seminary . From 1945 until he studied theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome ( Italy ). In 1948 he was ordained a priest. From 1951 he lived in the USA and taught at the San Diego seminary . From 1957 to 1958 he did his doctorate at the Biblical Institute in Rome . From 1959 he was Professor of Biblical Exegesis and Hermeneutics at Manhattan College . From 1994 to 2002 he also taught at the seminary in Vilnius and in Telšiai, at the Vytauto Didžiojo universitetas and Vilniaus pedagoginis universitetas .
