Anthony Higgins (born May 9, 1947 in Northampton , Great Britain ) is a British actor .

life and career

Higgins is the son of an émigré family from the south of Ireland who came to England before World War II. He started acting in school and graduated from drama school in Birmingham . The first successes came with the films A Journey with Love and Death (1969), How does Dracula's blood taste? (1970) and Vampire Circus (1972). In all previous films he played under the pseudonym Anthony Corlan .

Higgins had the opportunity to show dramatic potential with his participation in Castigata (1974) and in other films; After a long period of television work with the Royal Shakespeare Company and on various stages, he was hired by Hollywood for a small role as Gobler in the Indiana Jones film Raiders of the Lost Ark . In 1982 he played an important role under Peter Greenaway in The Draftsman's Contract , which led to further offers of the "Art-Haus-Kinos". In the mid-1980s, Higgins played in a number of above-average films and some television series (e.g. Lace (1984–1985)).
