Anthony Manfreda

Anthony Richard Tony Manfreda (born February 19, 1904 in Meriden , Connecticut , † October 9, 1988 in Brooksville , Florida ) was an American American football player. In high school he played football at Sanborn Seminary in Kingston , New Hampshire . He spent his college years at Holy Cross College in Worcester , Massachusetts . There he still holds the school kickoff return record, with a 100 yard return against Boston University , achieved in 1929. In 1930 he played two games in the National Football League for the Newark Tornadoes , one of them as a starter . Manfreda played in the position of halfback . He got the ball once and gained 12 yards of space.
