Anthony Okonkwo Gbuji

Anthony Okonkwo Gbuji (born October 29, 1931 in Ubulu-Uku ) is former bishop of Enugu .

Life

Anthony Okonkwo Gbuji was ordained a priest on November 23, 1958 .

Paul VI appointed him on July 5, 1973 Bishop of Issele-Uku . The Archbishop of Lagos , Anthony Olubunmi Okogie , consecrated him bishop on September 30 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Francis Arinze , Archbishop of Onitsha , and Patrick Ebosele Ekpu , Bishop of Benin City .

John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Enugu on November 8, 1996. On February 9, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement. He was appointed Apostolic Administrator of Benin City on May 31, 2010, and resigned from his office on March 18, 2011.
