Antirrhinum brown blanquetii is a plant type from the genus of snapdragons ( Antirrhinum ) in the family of plantain plants (Plantaginaceae). It is named in honor of Josias Braun-Blanquet (1884–1980), a Swiss botanist who developed plant sociology into his own research area in vegetation science.

Antirrhinum brown blanquetii is a perennial , herbaceous plant whose upright and branched at the top of stem plant height of 120 cm to achieve. The plant is mostly hairless, it is only hairy in the inflorescences . The foliage leaves, which are mostly opposite at the bottom and mostly alternate at the top, are 25 to 60 mm long and 4 to 15 mm wide, linear-elongated to elliptical and pointed towards the front.

The inflorescences are 5 to 20 cm long clusters of 5 to 20 flowers . The lower bracts are similar to the foliage leaves, the upper ones are shorter with 6 to 12 mm in length, but protrude beyond the buds . The flower stalks are 3 to 6 (rarely up to 12) mm long. The calyx is set with 7 to 10 mm long, ovate-lanceolate and pointed calyx tips. The crown is 30 to 40 mm long and colored yellow.

The fruits are elongated, glandular hairy capsules with a length of about 15 mm.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 16.

Occurrence

The species is native to northwestern Spain and northeastern Portugal and grows there on calcareous rocks and on walls. Obviously, however, it has now spread across Europe and can be found, for example, on the edges of fields in North Rhine-Westphalia.
