Antje Krause (born January 1966 in Bremervörde ) is a German bioinformatician and lecturer at the Technical University of Bingen .

biography

After graduating from high school and training as a data processing clerk and business IT assistant at the Lübeck Business Academy, Krause worked as a programmer in Hamburg from 1986 to 1988, initially until 1990, and then studied natural science informatics at Bielefeld University until 1996 , where she also received her doctorate in 2002. After completing her studies, she worked as a research assistant at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg until 2001 and then at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin until 2004 .

After a temporary professorship at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau in Brandenburg, she has been Professor of Bioinformatics at the Technical University of Bingen since 2007 in Faculty 2 - Technology, Computer Science and Economics. From 2008 to 2012 she was the spokesperson for the computer science department in the biosciences of the department of computer science in the life sciences of the Gesellschaft für Informatik and from 2012 to 2015 she was vice-president for research and technology transfer . She lives in Mainz.

Political commitment

Krause joined the Pirate Party in December 2009 and left it at the end of 2014. In the state elections in Rhineland-Palatinate in 2011 , she ran for the constituency of Mainz I as a direct candidate and received 3.4 percent of the vote, also in second place on the state list. The party failed, however, at the five percent hurdle .
