Antonín butcher

Antonín Fleischer , also Anton Fleischer (born February 17, 1850 in Rověčín , Moravia, † October 22, 1934 in Brno ) was a Czech entomologist and coleopterologist .

Life

Fleischer was the son of the evangelical pastor from Rověčín. He began examining beetles in his homeland during his high school education. After graduating from high school, Fleischer studied medicine in Vienna and Prague. He acquired further entomological knowledge as an intern with Edmund Reitter , whom he had met in Teschen . This resulted in a long-term friendship and collaboration with Reitter. Since 1881 MUDr. Butcher as a doctor in Brno.

The Medical Council was the author of the first Czech tables for identifying beetles , which were published between 1927 and 1930 under the title Přehled brouků fauny Československé republiky .

Fleischer was the brother of the writer and pacifist Jindřiška Wurmová .
