Anton Babnigg ( December 13, 1793 in Vienna , Habsburg Monarchy - October 28, 1872 in Csetnek , Hungary ) was an Austrian theater actor , opera singer ( tenor ) and theater director and director .

Life

After he had been prepared accordingly for his stage career, he first stepped onto the stage in Temešvár in 1815 , then worked for four years at the Deutsches Theater in Pest and joined the Association of the Court Opera Theater in Vienna in 1820 , after having been there in 1817 and 1819 Stage guest appearances. However, he only worked there for two years and then returned to Pest, where he first took over the direction and then the direction, which he led very successfully for three years. In 1826 he went on a great art tour through Germany. In 1827, the artist joined the Dresden Court Theater Association, where he worked until 1844. Appointed Saxon Chamber Singer for his services , he retired in 1844 and retired to his homeland.

His daughter was the opera singer Emma Babnigg .
