Anton Bodem

Anton Bodem SDB (born August 7, 1925 in Asch (Aš) , Czechoslovakia ; † October 19, 2007 in Penzberg ) was a Catholic theologian and Salesian of Don Bosco .

Life

Anton Bodem first learned the trade of a businessman. After being expelled from Czechoslovakia, he joined the Order of the Salesians of Don Bosco in Ensdorf in September 1948 . In 1952 he made his first profession and studied theology at the religious college of the Salesians Don Bosco in Benediktbeuern . He was ordained a priest on June 29, 1961 . After further study visits at the University of Würzburg and the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz , he was in 1969 with a thesis on Thomas Cajetan to Dr. theol. PhD . From 1970 he taught dogmatics at the religious college of the Salesians Don Bosco; In 1981 he became a professor with state university recognition . In 1998 he retired .

The main teaching and research areas of Bodem, besides dogmatics, were the New Testament . He published numerous dogmatic essays.
