Anton Bolinder

Anton Bolinder (born June 3, 1915 in Los ; † December 7, 2006 ) was a Swedish athlete .

After Bolinder finished second in the Swedish high jump championship in 1934 and 1944 , he won his first championship title in 1946 with 1.98 meters. In his first international assignment, he surprisingly won the 1946 European Championships in Oslo. With a personal best of 1.99 meters, he jumped three centimeters higher than the British favorite Alan Paterson .

In 1948 Bolinder was again Swedish champion and jumped 1.93 meters, so he had qualified for the 1948 Olympic Games . But he did not appear in London; his compatriot Göran Widenfeldt , who jumped 1.97 meters in advance, was the best Swede and finished ninth with 1.90 meters.
