Kurt Lundqvist

Kurt Lundqvist (born November 20, 1914 - March 26, 1976 ) was a Swedish athlete .

The high jumper Kurt Lundqvist surprisingly won the European Championships in Paris in 1938 . At 1.97 meters, he jumped three centimeters higher than the two Finns Kalevi Kotkas and Lauri Kalima . He benefited from the fact that the defending champion Kotkas took part in the final in the high jump and in the discus throw, where he was fourth.
