Anton Egbert von Rodt

Anton Egbert Franz de Paula Freiherr von Rodt, Lord of Bußmannshausen and Odenhausen and Walpertshofen (* July 27, 1710 - March 27, 1768 ) was an Austrian general, royal and imperial chamberlain, hereditary trustee of the Kempten monastery and lieutenant colonel in the Baden-Baden infantry regiment of the Swabian district.

Life

Anton Egbert von Rodt came from the marriage of Franz Christoph Reichsfreiherr von Rodt, Herr zu Bußmannshausen and Odenhausen and Maria Theresia Benedicte Reichsfreiin von Sickingen zu Hohenburg. The prince-bishops of Constance, Franz Konrad von Rodt and Maximilian Christof von Rodt , as well as General Christian von Rodt were his brothers. His uncle was Kasimir Anton von Sickingen , Prince-Bishop of Constance. Anton Egbert was married to Eleonora Freiin von Speth († March 23, 1796 in Dillingen); the marriage remained childless.

Anton Egbert von Rodt joined the imperial infantry regiment Freiherr von Müffling in 1720. In 1730 he was appointed lieutenant and was employed in the service of the Swabian district. On September 26, 1739 he was promoted to adjutant general and in 1743 to lieutenant colonel. Empress Maria Theresa appointed him major general and sergeant general on October 22, 1756. In 1758 he became Lieutenant General Field Marshal of the Swabian District.

In 1753 he became a knight of the Margravial Baden Order of Fidelity .
