Anton F. Borner

Anton F. Börner (born December 22, 1954 in Ingolstadt ) is a German entrepreneur.

Life

After graduating from high school, Börner studied business administration at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. In 1979 he graduated with a degree in business administration and then joined his parents' company. Since 1983 he has been managing the company Börner + Co. as a personally liable partner.
For 17 years (2001 to 2017), he was President of the Federal Association of Wholesale, Foreign Trade and Services e. V. (BGA).

Positions

Börner is committed to free world trade, "Change through trade" is one of his regulatory leitmotifs. Börner made a name for himself with proposals to avoid the credit crunch, in particular through the securitization of corporate loans. As future topics for the association's work in 2010, Börner stated that it was essential to spread the principles of the social market economy internationally, to strengthen intercultural exchange and to continue the dialogue between politics, business and the church.

Anton F. Börner has been President of the BGA since January 2001. In 2012 he was unanimously re-elected in office until December 31, 2015. In October 2015 he was again unanimously re-elected for a further three years. In September 2017, Holger Bingmann was elected as his successor.

In December 2009, Börner advertised the New Social Market Economy initiative as part of the PR campaign "Social market economy makes it better ... because it keeps us competitive worldwide."

Private life

Anton F. Börner is married and has four children.
