Anton Fernbach , also Anton Fernbach-Ferenczi or Anton Ferenczi , (born March 4, 1925 in Oradea ) is a former Romanian football player . The striker played a total of 157 games in the Romanian Divizia A and the Hungarian Nemzeti Bajnokság . In 1944 he won the Hungarian championship with Nagyváradi AC and the Romanian championship in 1951 with CCA Bucharest .
Career
Fernbach's career began in 1943 when he joined the first team of Nagyváradi AC , which played in the Hungarian first division, the Nemzeti Bajnokság . He was used three times in the 1943/44 season and won the Hungarian championship with his team at the end of the season.
After the end of the Second World War , Fernbach joined Karres Mediaș . With Karres he failed to qualify for the Divizia A . He moved to Ferar Cluj , where he was able to achieve eight goals in 16 games in the 1946/47 season . In 1947 Ferar merged with local rivals CFR Cluj . Fernbach was able to assert himself in the 1947/48 season and achieved the best goal rate of his career with 15 hits in 28 appearances. In the 1948/49 season he could not build on, scored only three times and had to relegate with his team at the end of the season.
In the summer of 1949 Fernbach then moved to CCA Bucharest . Since the Romanian Cup was not held that year due to the change in league operations until autumn 1949, he was able to secure his first title in Romania through the cup success. He was able to repeat the cup success with his team in the 1950 season . He was rarely able to prove his scoring danger at CCA. He was used less often and only played half of the games in the 1951 championship season .
In early 1952 he left CCA to local rival Locomotiva Bucharest , who had just been relegated to Divizia B. With his new club, he managed to get back up immediately . After two seasons he had to relegate again at the end of the 1954 season . Even during his time at Locomotiva, he no longer appeared as a goalscorer. He rose with the club in late 1955 again, but came in the 1956 season only on eleven missions. In early 1957 he returned to Progresul Oradea in his hometown. With his new club, he rose to Divizia B at the end of the 1957/58 season . Fernbach ended his career in 1960.
National team
Fernbach played a game for the Romanian national team . He was used in the sixth game of the canceled Balkan Cup in 1948 against Hungary , but was replaced after two minutes against Gheorghe Bodo .
