Anton Helbich-Poschacher (* 1954 ) is an Austrian lawyer , master stonemason and industrialist . He owns and directs the Poschacher natural stone works .

Life and work

Anton Helbich-Poschacher is the older son of the Austrian industrialist and politician Leopold Helbich and the entrepreneur Burgl Helbich-Poschacher . After studying law, he completed his apprenticeship as a master stonemason in 1984 and then took on managerial tasks at Poschacher Granit-Marmor GmbH, based in St. Georgen an der Gusen , the core area of ​​the family business founded in 1839. The company operates eight quarries in the Mühlviertel and Waldviertel and deals with the extraction and processing of natural stones for facades , floors, squares, paving and for road and hydraulic engineering . With more than 200 employees, a turnover of € 22 million is achieved (2009).

He is chairman of the industrial division of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce and a specialist representative of the stone and ceramics industry at both state and federal level. In addition, he is also Chairman of the Association of Austrian Natural Stone Works and President of the Association of European Natural Stone Companies EUROROC, which represents 40,000 European companies with 400,000 employees.

Due to the redevelopment proceedings initiated on October 9, 2012 with self-administration by Poschacher Natursteinwerke, he resigned his functions in the interest representation.

Since 1978 he has been a member of the Catholic student union KÖHV Rugia Vienna in the ÖCV .
