Anton Landes

Paul Anton Landes (born January 14, 1712 in Wessobrunn ; † May 16, 1764 in Berlin ) was a plasterer of the Bavarian Rococo .

Life

Anton Landes belonged to the circle of the important Wessobrunn school . He was a nephew and pupil of the well-known Munich court plasterer Johann Baptist Zimmermann . From an early age, Landes worked for the Munich court and made stucco work in the Schleißheim and Nymphenburg palaces . His later work focused on Regensburg and its wider area.

• Abbey of Our Lady of the Old Chapel in Regensburg: stucco work in the nave (1750–1752) and in the choir (1762) of the collegiate church
• Stiftspfarrkirche St. Kassian in Regensburg: stuccoing of the church on behalf of the monastery for the old chapel (1754)
• Maria Medingen monastery church in Mödingen : stucco work in the Ebner chapel (1755) of the monastery church
• Neustadt an der Waldnaab : stucco decoration of the parish church (around 1740) attributed to Landes
• Frauenzell Monastery : Attributed to the stuccoing of the Landes monastery church
• So-called. German school church in Amberg: stucco probably by Landes in collaboration with Franz Xaver Höflmayer (1757/1758)
• Maria-Schnee-Kapelle in Regensburg: stucco work in the style of Landes or Höflmayer (around 1760)
• Kallmünz : stucco of the parish church in the style of Landes or Höflmayer (after 1753 or before 1758)
