Anton Rosenkranz

Anton Rosenkranz (born November 17, 1827 in Prague , † June 29, 1888 in Ödenburg ) was a Bohemian military bandmaster and composer .

Life

Rosenkranz studied at the Prague Conservatory and at the age of 20 became Kapellmeister of the Civil Infantry Corps in Prague. From 1848 to 1850 he was Kapellmeister of the 2nd Styrian volunteer hunter battalion and then switched to the military music of the 39th Infantry Regiment .

From 1865 to 1878 he was Kapellmeister in Infantry Regiment No. 80 and in 1878 succeeded Carl Michael Ziehrer in Infantry Regiment No. 76 .
