Anton Schmitz (politician)

Anton Schmitz (born June 27, 1852 in Koblenz-Neuendorf ; † July 5, 1934 in Wuppertal - Elberfeld ) was a German lawyer and, as a politician, a member of the Prussian House of Representatives in the 20th legislative period (1903-1908).

Life

Born the son of a farmer , Schmitz studied law in Heidelberg after attending the Progymnasium in Andernach and the Gymnasium in Münstereifel . During his studies he became a member of the Allemannia Heidelberg fraternity . After his exams in 1876 and 1881, he worked as a lawyer in Elberfeld from 1881 until his death in 1934 . He carried the title of Counselor .

From 1901 to 1906 he was a member of the Free People's Party (FVp) in the provincial parliament of the Prussian Rhine Province for Elberfeld, and from 1904 to 1908 a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency of Düsseldorf 2 (Elberfeld and Barmen ).
