Anton von Dannecker

Anton Dannecker , from 1857 von Dannecker , (born June 8, 1816 in Ratshausen , † June 21, 1881 in Rottenburg am Neckar ) was a Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

Anton von Dannecker was born in Ratshausen, which at that time still belonged to the Spaichingen District Office. In Ratshausen there is a noticeable accumulation of the Dannecker family name , made famous by the sculptor Johann Heinrich von Dannecker , who was born in Waldenbuch near Stuttgart . Ratshausen is still the headquarters of the Dannecker family today. "The common progenitor of the Dannecker clan is the farmer Hans Dannecker, who lived around 1580 [...] in the small village of Ratshausen."

Anton attended high school in Rottweil and then studied theology at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen , on September 9, 1841, he was ordained a priest . On July 16, 1845 he became chaplain in Stuttgart , on April 9, 1849 city pastor in Stuttgart.

From June 1856 to April 1857 he worked in Rome as theological advisor to the Württemberg ambassador von Ow when the Concordat was concluded . It was about the planned conclusion of a concordat between Württemberg and the Vatican, but this never came about. On December 10, 1860, he was appointed Cathedral Chapter in Rottenburg and installed as such on January 25, 1861. From 1868 to 1876 he was a member of the Württemberg Chamber of Deputies as a representative of the Rottenburg cathedral chapter and papal house prelate .

Anton von Dannecker was buried in the Sülchenfriedhof in Rottenburg.

Dannecker's literary activity dates back to his time as a pastor in Stuttgart. It moves in the homiletic field and comprises two volumes

Honors, ennobling

In 1857 Anton Dannecker received the Knight's Cross First Class of the Order of the Württemberg Crown , which was associated with the personal title of nobility. He was also honored with the KK Mexican Guadalupe Order .
