Antonia "Ants" Bolingbroke-Kent (* 1978 ) is a British travel writer and television producer .

Life

Antonia Bolingbroke-Kent studied Modern History at the University of Edinburgh before working for ITV .

In 2006, she started with her friend Jo Huxster to 20,211 kilometers (12,561 miles, which claims 12,783 miles) long trip with an autorickshaw that of Bangkok to Brighton led. The pink rickshaw, dubbed “Ting Tong”, was made by expertise . This 98 day trip raised £ 50,000 for the Mind charity and broke the Guinness World Record for the longest trip by tuk tuk . Bolingbroke-Kent and Huxster wrote a book about this trip with Tuk-Tuk to the Road . For the record run they also received the Fun Fearless Female Award from Cosmopolitan magazine .

A few years later, Bolingbroke-Kent rode the frozen Ob on an Ural motorcycle. In 2014, Bolingbroke-Kent toured the Ho Chi Minh Trail on a Honda Cub .

Bolingbroke-Kent has specialized in exotic destinations and topics in her reports and films. Her book Land of the dawn-lit mountains: a journey across Arunachal Pradesh - India's forgotten frontier was nominated for the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards in 2018 . She writes for Telegraph , Geographical , Wanderlust and Guardian , among others .

Bolingbroke-Kent lives in Bristol . She is a granddaughter of the British Admiral Walter Couchman .
