Antonio Calzada Urquiza
Antonio Calzada Urquiza (born September 10, 1930 in Santiago de Querétaro ; † June 29, 2019 ) was a Mexican ambassador and governor of the state of Querétaro .
Life
Antonio Calzada Urquiza studied architecture at UNAM from 1959 to 1965 and practiced this profession. Antonio Calzada Urquiza is a member of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional . From 1959 to 1965, Antonio Calzada Urquiza chaired the Junta Federal de Mejoras Materiales de Chetumal (Federal Border Land and Coastal Promotion in Chetumal ) in Quintana Roo .
From 1965 to 1970 he was a delegate of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social in Queretaro. From 1970 to 1973 he was district administrator in the municipality of Queretaro and from 1973 to 1979 governor. During his tenure, companies from the USA, Japan, Chihuahua and Monterrey settled in Queretaro and several hotel chains built buildings. In the state archives of the state of Queretaro he had a governor's hall set up in which he had all the governors of Querétaro depicted in oil. He married the teacher Teresa Rovirosa de Calzadal. Their son is José Calzada Rovirosa, who has been the governor of Queretaro since 2009.
