Antonio Capuano

Antonio Capuano (born April 9, 1940 in Naples ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Passionate about painting, Capuano graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti . At the beginning of the 1990s, he began working as a film director, in which he presented nine films by 2010, with which he was not only successful with audiences but also with critics: He was awarded the Nastro d'Argento in 1992 for his first Vito e gli altri awarded, received the Giffoni Award in 1996 , won a David di Donatello in 2005 for La guerra di Mario . He was nominated three times for the Golden Lion of the Festival in Venice . He had already received the Premio Salinas for the script of his debut film .

Capuano holds a chair for scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts, from which he graduated.
