Antonio de Nigris Guajardo (born April 1, 1978 in Monterrey , † November 15, 2009 in Larisa , Greece ) was a Mexican football player .

Career

Antonio de Nigris began his professional career with his hometown club, CF Monterrey . On March 20, 2006, he signed a contract with Santos FC in Brazil . The striker made his debut against Brasiliense FC in the Copa do Brasil . Before joining Santos, Antonio de Nigris played for Club America , Villarreal CF , Polideportivo Ejido , Once Caldas , Puebla FC and UNAM Pumas .

After only five months at FC Santos, he moved again, this time to Turkey for Gaziantepspor . In the winter transfer period of 2008 he moved to Ankaraspor. His contract should run until June 30, 2010. In January 2009 he moved to MKE Ankaragücü on loan . In the summer of 2009 he moved to the Greek first division club AE Larisa on a free transfer .

Antonio de Nigris died of a heart attack at the age of 31 . He had two brothers, Aldo de Nigris is also a football player with CF Monterrey . The eldest brother Alfonso de Nigris works as a model and actor.
