Antonius Kettrup

Antonius AF Kettrup (born March 26, 1938 in Arnsberg ) is a German chemist and university professor. Kettrup has presented numerous publications in various fields of analytical chemistry and environmental chemistry .

Life

Kettrup studied chemistry at the University of Göttingen , where he received his diploma in 1963. In 1966 he received his doctorate at the University of Munich with the thesis "Investigations on the systematics of inorganic extraction processes". In 1971 he qualified as a professor for inorganic and analytical chemistry and was appointed private lecturer. In 1971 he followed a call from the University of Paderborn , where he worked as a professor of applied chemistry until 1990. Afterwards he went to the Institute for Chemical Ecology of the "GSF Research Center for Environment and Health" (today Helmholtz Center Munich ) in Neuherberg near Munich. At the same time, he was appointed to succeed Friedhelm Korte as professor of ecological chemistry at the Technical University of Munich . In 2004 and 2006 he was retired in these positions.

Kettrup held numerous academic positions and received various honors from Chinese universities.

Kettrup is rated "highly cited" in the "Ecology and Environmental Research" category in the Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Research database .

He volunteers as chairman of the Arnsberger Heimatbund.

Academic honors

Kettrup received numerous honors from Chinese universities, for example in 1994 he became "Honorary Research Professor" at the Institute of Hydrobiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Wuhan and in 1995 Honorary Professor of the Institute of Applied Ecology in the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
