Antoniw ( Ukrainian Антонів ; Russian Антонов Antonow ) is a village in the southwest of the Ukrainian Kiev Oblast with about 840 inhabitants.
The village, first mentioned in writing in 1471, is the only village in the district of the same name in the south of Skwyra Rajon .
Antoniw is 16 km south-east of Rajonzentrum Skvyra and about 125 km south west of Kiev on the banks of Beresnjanka ( Березнянка ), a 44-km long, left tributary of Ros and the regional road R-018 .
Personalities
The Ukrainian psychiatrist, psychologist, Professor Ivan Sikorskyj was born in the village in 1842 . He was the father of aviation pioneer Ihor Sikorskyj .
