Skwyra ( Ukrainian Сквира ; Russian Сквира Skwira ) is a city in the Ukrainian Oblast of Kiev with 15,900 inhabitants (2019).

The town, first mentioned in writing in 1390, is the administrative seat of Skwyra Rajon and received city status in 1938.

In addition to Skwyra, the city district also includes the village of Kononiwka ( Кононівка ⊙ ) with about 80 inhabitants.

Skwyra is located on the 45 km long Skwyrka ( Сквирка ), a tributary of the Ros 125 km southwest of Kiev .
