Tarashcha ( Ukrainian and Russian Тараща ) is a city in the south of the Ukrainian Oblast of Kiev with 11,500 inhabitants (2012).
Tarashcha was founded in 1709 and received city status in 1957.
Tarashcha is the administrative seat of Tarashcha Rajon and is located on the Kotluj ( Котлуй ), a 26 km long tributary of the Ros . The capital Kiev is 115 km northeast of the city.
